Staples removed yesterday- big relief. Still hurts, but definitely less than before.

Hi all, I’ve had 2 days of rehab so far and it’s not super challenging when I’m doing it but then exhausting afterward and for the rest of the day. The staples in my head are still causing headaches and itchiness. I have another week to go for those to come out. I try to get outside a little bit each day, but mostly just hanging out inside listening to audiobooks and podcasts. Thanks everyone for all your support!

Beth is beginning post-op rehab three days a week.This is standard. She’s in good spirits!

Mom's been resting on the couch and in the garden. The staples in her head are painful and itching, but she's recovering slowly. All the well wishes on this site put a smile on her face :)

Home! 🏡

We’re on the way home from the hospital with Mom in the car!

Mom met with physical and occupational therapists today, and they are confident that she’ll be able to return home later tonight. She seems much better overall in our opinion as well. We’re looking forward to having her back home!

Mom’s still a bit shaky from the surgery. She’ll be spending another night in the hospital, but she’s got a lot of love and a good appetite.

This has been pretty difficult, but hearing the outpouring of love from all your posts has enlivened her spirits! We are so very thankful to have a wonderful community like this. Thanks everyone ❤️

She'll stay another night in the hospital since she's still in a lot of pain, unfortunately. We're hoping she'll be discharged tomorrow. I am glad the team is making sure she's solid before releasing her from their care.

Mom’s pain got a little better throughout the day. She got a lot of rest — still very tired — and is sleeping soundly right now. Goodnight all!

Good morning friends and family! Mom slept decently well last night. The doctor will keep her another night, though. She’s in a lot of pain and he thinks having nurses will do her well.

We’re with mom now. She’s very tired and in pain but she’s talking and herself. I’ll probably say goodnight to this site now. Thanks for checking in everyone!

Mom is awake! We’re still waiting for a room, though, so not allowed to see her yet.

Mom’s in surgery and went in with good spirits. We’ll post more updates as they arrive.

Toby and I are with Beth in preop right now. She’s in good spirits and in excellent hands. We will keep you updated throughout the day. Love to all.
